The To’Hajiilee School project was a $6.5 million project for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) that involved major infrastructure renovations of the 81,000 square foot school complex. The project included activities for site preparation, new construction, complete replacement of utilities and infrastructure systems, and significant renovation of multiple buildings for administrative areas, offices, school classrooms, and multi-purpose use areas.

NASCO’s services included design and construction of a state-of-the art on-site wastewater treatment facility. Mitigation of collapsible soils was a high concern during this phase of construction due to excessive water percolation and runoff in the area.

This school has a dormitory area where students live during the week, as well as a commercial kitchen and eating area. We performed all work while the campus remained occupied. NASCO installed a mosaic of cultural significance in the entry area at no additional cost to our client.
