LEADERSHIP
Matthew James - Owner/President and CEO
Matt co-founded NASCO with Rusty Sheppard in 1998. He has 15 years experience planning, scheduling, and managing construction and environmental remediation projects. His technical experience encompasses job order and stand-alone construction management for the federal government, and environmental remediation efforts including contaminated soil removal, acid mine drainage treatment, lead and asbestos abatements, Above Ground and Underground Storage Tank (AST/UST) replacements and refurbishments, and watershed restorations. Matt studied Environmental Engineering at Montana Tech and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Idaho.
Dennis "Rusty" Sheppard - Owner/Chairman
Rusty co-founded NASCO with Matt in 1998. He has an extensive background in several heavy construction markets including environmental remediation, demolition/salvage, and dismantling for mining, petroleum, railroad and heavy industrial clients. He has a long history of private and public corporate management, company start up and capitalization and strategic program development. Rusty leads the NASCO Board of Directors, and focuses on NASCO’s strategic growth in current markets, and expansion of corporate capabilities into new market areas.
Rick Luna - Chief Financial Officer
Rick is experienced in all aspects of business startup, management and growth. Some of Rick's key financial strengths include market analysis, operational management, revenue analysis, tax planning, cash strategies, and accounting. Rick graduated Cum Laude from Western Oregon University with a Bachelor in Business Administration, Finance with an emphasis on Industrial Organization Psychology. In addition to providing management oversight of the corporate financial and accounting staff, Rick has overall responsibility for the financial health of NASCO.
